How Does Fat Freezing Work?
During treatment, a fat pocket is suctioned into the cavity of the Cooltech handpiece and there will be some tightness felt by the vacuum pressure and a tingly cold sensation for only 10 minutes until the entire area reaches a specific temperature to destroy the fat cells. These cells are then naturally metabolised through the lymphatic system and naturally removed from the body.
To achieve this goal, Cooltech has 9 applicators designed to adapt to all body parts. It rapidly shock freezes using advanced 360 technology to a temperature of up to -8 degrees, to eliminate adipose cells. This allows us to target specific areas, transforming your body to the way you want.

The science behind the procedure is based on the vulnerability of fat cells (adipocytes) to temperature changes. At freezing point, adipose tissue is proven to destroy fat cells. How does Cooltech fat freezing work?

Results can usually be seen 6 weeks after treatment, but the real magic takes a little longer – 8-12 weeks in total.
How long is each treatment?
Each treatment takes 70 minutes, but to give you enough time to settle in, we recommend allowing yourself around 90 minutes. If you have 2 treatments, the appointment can take up to 3 hours. During this time, we encourage you to catch up on social media, listen to the latest audible book or just sit back and enjoy the moment to yourself.
Are there any side effects?
As with all aesthetic procedures, there may be some side effects after your treatment. These include: temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching or skin sensitivity. These are only temporary side effects and will subside within days or weeks.
How long do the effects last?
CoolTech fat freezing can be a form of permanent fat reduction, as long as you maintain a sensible diet and lifestyle after treatment. Poor diet, lack of exercise or hormonal changes may affect long term results. If weight gain occurs, a maintenance treatment may be advisable.
How many treatments will I need?
You will need anywhere between 1-3 treatments. Each treatment will eliminate up to 60% of the fat cells that fit in to the pocket of the handpiece. Therefore, it depends on how much fat there is to begin with. Also, as you’d expect, everybody responds differently to the treatment.
What does fat freezing feel like?
It can be uncomfortable for some people. For the first 10 minutes, you may feel a stinging sensation which then subsides as the area becomes numb. Then, for the remaining 60 minutes, you’ll be pain free. When the handpieces are removed, there can be discomfort for around 10 minutes.
Is there downtime?
There is no downtime. You can resume your daily activities immediately afterwards.
